About Samira Burris

Samira Burris (She/Her) of Philadelphia (by way of Atlanta), joined WEX in 2022 as the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Strategy Manager. With more than 10 years of DEI & Belonging experience, her primary responsibility is supporting WEX’s Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) as well as leading special projects that continue to innovate and escalate the DEI efforts here at WEX.

Samira completed her undergraduate education at Salisbury University in Maryland as a double major in Conflict Analysis/Dispute Resolution and Interpersonal Human Communication with a concentration in Non-Verbal & Cultural Communication. She continued her studies by obtaining her Masters in Adult Education Administration at Rowan University of New Jersey. During her tenure, she managed an extensive research project that resulted in her master’s thesis expounding upon the intersectionality of Self Identity Development and music culture.

Currently located in the Austin, TX area, in her free time Samira enjoys concerts, cooking & baking, international travel, and volunteering with her sorority Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
