Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney were Motorists were left feeling uncertain with wholesale prices on a modest rise despite another fall over the last week. With average ULP prices in these cities sitting close to their respective TGP (Terminal Gate Price). We can expect some retailers to increase their prices again. We did see some smaller retails in Brisbane already do this – however Melbourne and Sydney have not made any changes as yet.

Brisbane

Current ULP average: 164.0cpl

Price range over the last week: 151.9cpl – 239.9cpl

A new price cycle has arrived for Brisbane with several retailers updating ULP prices to 199.9cpl last week. To date, there are only 7 locations and not yet spread across the city.

Sydney

Current ULP average: 164.0cpl

Price range over the last week: 113.9cpl – 219.9cpl

Unlike Brisbane, there is no sign of a price cycle for Sydney however it’s likely to be expected early next week.

Melbourne

Current ULP average: 167.1pl

Price range over the last week: 148.2cpl – 219.9cpl

Average prices have dropped greatly in Melbourne over the past two weeks. Putting Melbourne in alignment with Brisbane and Sydney’s price cycles for the coming week.

Adelaide

Current ULP average: 176.5cpl

Price range over the last week: 145.9cpl – 206.0cpl

With Adelaide approximately in its mid-cycle expect to see prices continue to drop over the next week.

Perth

Current ULP average: 160.2cpl

Price range over the last week: 148.7cpl – 208.9cpl

Perth seems be facing an unusual phase with its regular price cycle with two very short spikes in the last few weeks. Motorists will be keeping an eye out to see whether these price cycle spikes will continued over the next few weeks.

Darwin (no price cycle)

Current ULP average: 194.4cpl

Price range over the last week: 189.5cpl – 201.9cpl

This week motorists saw a slight drop for Darwin and ULP prices, though still ranking as the highest price capital this week.

Hobart (no price cycle)

Current ULP average: 187.8cpl

Price range over the last week: 170.9cpl – 209.9cpl

Hobart prices have continued to drop approx. 4cpl and doesn’t look like this will change over the next week.

Retail diesel prices

Current Diesel averages:

ACT – 214.7cpl

Adelaide – 206.5cpl

Brisbane – 213.6cpl

Darwin – 218.7cpl

Hobart – 215.5cpl

Melbourne – 211.0cpl

Perth – 201.8cpl

Sydney – 207.9cpl

With prices dropping across the board for Diesel, Perth has now ranked as the lowest price this week.

Wholesale trends

Wholesale petrol prices increased this week, with average TGP prices going up by 0.6cpl.

Wholesale diesel prices also decreased this week, with average TGP prices dropping by 1.0cpl
