Those keeping a close eye on this week excise relief as it comes to an end this Thursday will be interesting to see how this will play out across all major capital cities. It’s expected that these high prices are here to stay for the next few weeks with Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney all seeing new price cycles over the past week. Retailers across these cities will have buffer and we won’t see the jump in prices straight way but it is expected that retailers may just absorb the 25cpl until the next price cycle.
