Wholesale fuel prices are still on the up with the news of Russia sending troops into Ukraine – that combined with the current AUD fetching approximately 0.72 USD and these record fuel prices are here to stay. 

Perth could very well hit the $2 per litre mark for the first time ever in their fuel price history, with the new peak of their petrol price cycle due today.

 

Brisbane

Current ULP average: 186.2cpl

Price range over the last week: 158.9cpl – 205.9cpl

Fuel prices in Brisbane have been extremely slow to drop since the petrol price cycle peaked last week – a minor 3.5cpl fall in 7 days!

 

Sydney

Current ULP average: 188.1cpl

Price range over the last week: 150.9cpl – 201.9cpl

A massive 11cpl increase in average fuel prices across Sydney this week – though some retailers have started to drop their petrol prices, so be sure to shop around.

 

Melbourne

Current ULP average: 173.7cpl

Price range over the last week: 160.9cpl – 197.8cpl

Melbourne motorists will finally see a dip in fuel prices this week, albeit a very slow one.

 

Adelaide

Current ULP average: 164.6cpl

Price range over the last week: 152.9cpl – 174.9pl

Despite the rising wholesale prices since their last discount fuel cycle 3 weeks ago, Adelaide went against the usual trend and petrol prices did not peak, dubbing it as the cheapest capital

 

Perth

Current ULP average: 170.5cpl

Price range over the last week: 160.7cpl – 195.0cpl

Perth motorists can expect to be seeing petrol costs at a massive $2 per litre for unleaded petrol, as the peak of their current fuel price cycle is expected to hit across the city today.

 

Darwin

Current ULP average: 184.7cpl

Price range over the last week: 131.9cpl – 185.9cpl

Just a small increase in fuel prices for Darwin this week.

Hobart

Current ULP average: 189.8cpl

Price range over the last week: 156.9cpl – 198.0cpl

Hobart took out number one spot as the most expensive capital city this week after a massive increase in fuel prices.

Diesel prices remain on the up with no reprieve as costs are set to soar over the next few weeks.

 

Wholesale trends

Wholesale petrol prices rose this week, with average TGP prices increasing by 2.7cpl.

Wholesale diesel prices also increased this week, with average TGP prices rising by 1.5cpl.
