The capitals have been preparing themselves for record-breaking prices this week, with many looking forward to the prices at the bottom of the fuel price cycles.
However, drivers should note that the current prices might be the best we’re going to get for some time. If wholesale prices continue to rise, it will be hard to find ULP for less than 170cpl.
Brisbane
Current ULP average: 189.7cpl
Price range over the last week: 150.9cpl – 203.9cpl
Brisbane’s fuel price cycle has now peaked, with drivers having no options for cheaper fuel. As Brisbane is approaching the bottom of the cycle in about three weeks, the average price for ULP is not likely to decrease much lower than 170cpl before starting to increase again.
Sydney
Current ULP average: 177.0cpl
Price range over the last week: 154.5cpl – 199.9cpl
The ULP prices in Sydney are likely to increase even further. Some sites are yet to increase their prices to what we’ve witnessed in the northern and eastern suburbs.

Perth
Current ULP average: 180.8cpl
Price range over the last week: 159.5cpl – 199.9cpl
This week is mid-cycle for Perth, with an expected low point to be next week Tuesday, 22 February 2022.
