After a long period of slowly falling prices on the east coast, we can expect to see the new petrol price cycles emerge this week. The first signs are evident in Sydney right now with several retail locations posting 199.9c/L for unleaded 91. With wholesale prices going up, it’s likely this will start next in Melbourne, then Brisbane.
Brisbane
Current ULP average: 172.4c/L
Price range over the last week: 163.9c/L – 219.9c/L
A small price drop again for Brisbane. And although it’s still the highest of the capitals with price cycles, it is getting closer to the average prices of Melbourne and Sydney.
Sydney
Current ULP average: 167.5c/L
Price range over the last week: 155.9c/L – 199.9c/L
The average price for unleaded 91 came down by approx. 3c/L over the past week. The first sign of the new price cycle has been seen in the Eastern Suburbs now with 3 retailers putting prices up to 199.9c/L.
Melbourne
Current ULP average: 170.6cpl
Price range over the last week: 160.9cpl – 199.9cpl
Only a small drop again for Melbourne. With wholesale prices on the increase – the new price cycle is likely to be only days away.
Adelaide
Current ULP average: 163.7c/L
Price range over the last week: 150.9c/L – 199.1c/L
Adelaide prices fell considerably in the past week and we are now set to see a spike any day.
Perth
Current ULP average: 165.2c/L
Price range over the last week: 155.3c/L – 199.9c/L
We can probably expect to see Wednesday’s peak price at 199.9c/L again this week
Darwin
Current ULP average: 181.5c/L
Price range over the last week: 175.5cpl – 182.9cpl
No real change for Darwin this week.
Hobart
Current ULP average: 183.4c/L
Price range over the last week: 172.9c/L – 192.9c/L
More downward movement for Hobart, bring unleaded 91 prices closer to that in Darwin now.

Wholesale petrol prices decreased this week with average TGP prices going up by 2.0c/L.
Wholesale diesel prices decreased this week with average TGP prices going up by 1.7c/L.
