With wholesale prices continuing to drop for both petrol and diesel, this is great news for motorists. Since the announcement of fuel extension by the New Zealand government, Australians are keeping a close eye on the Federal Government’s decision. It’s expected that they too will reinstate the full fuel excise in September.

Brisbane

Current ULP average: 180.7cpl

Price range over the last week: 164.9cpl – 239.9cpl

Despite wholesale prices continuing to drop,  there are no new signs of a new cycle for Brisbane.

Sydney

Current ULP average: 181.7cpl

Price range over the last week: 154.9cpl – 224.9cpl

Sydney’s price cycle is likely to be another week away, unless we see a sudden rise in wholesale prices.

 

Melbourne

Current ULP average: 195.6cpl

Price range over the last week: 169.9cpl – 236.1cpl

Great news for motorists, with prices this week dropping down approx. 20cpl over the last week – yet a long way to match other capitals.

Adelaide

Current ULP average: 188.5cpl

Price range over the last week: 154.9cpl – 219.7cpl

This week we’re seeing a slight drop in Adelaide prices after a brief peak of 199.9cpl.

Perth

Current ULP average: 166.7cpl

Price range over the last week: 156.0cpl – 210.0cpl

Perth is currently at the bottom of the cycle, we expect to see a price jump on Wednesday within the 190s.

Darwin (no price cycle)

Current ULP average: 204.4cpl

Price range over the last week: 199.5cpl – 209.9cpl

Price averages in Darwin fell slightly, taking over as the as the highest priced capital this week.

Hobart (no price cycle)

Current ULP average: 200.4cpl

Price range over the last week: 179.9cpl – 223.9cpl

Hobart experienced a price drop of approx. 8cpl, ranking in second under Darwin as the second highest capital this week.

Retail diesel prices

Current Diesel averages:

ACT – 224.5cpl

Adelaide – 219.0cpl

Brisbane – 227.8cpl

Darwin – 232.5cpl

Hobart – 230.7cpl

Melbourne – 222.6cpl

Perth – 217.2cpl

Sydney – 220.0cpl

We can expect another drop for diesel across all capital cities within the next week.

Wholesale trends

Wholesale petrol prices dropped significantly this week, with average TGP prices decreasing by 7.4cpl.

Wholesale diesel prices also decreased this week, with average TGP prices dropping by 6.5cpl.
