We wanted to communicate with the WEX community about what we’re doing in response to the COVID-19 outbreak and introduce you to some resources we have prepared for our customers, partners, and community members.
Being headquartered in Maine since 1983, we have faced our share of disaster and weather challenges over the years. As a result, we have experience working from home when unexpected weather sets in. So when the Novel Coronavirus became a threat, WEX was fortunate to be able to react quickly when we needed to. Our 5,000 employees have been working from home since March 12, we have restricted travel and canceled all non-essential events we had scheduled.
Because of our preparedness, our focus on technology, and because of the products and solutions we offer, we have been able to continue operating business as usual and providing you with the service you have come to expect. As part of that service to you, we are introducing a new tool, the COVID-19 Information & Resources page. You will find it full of useful content and it will be a living, breathing resource, updated regularly with new information as it becomes available.
While many of us around the world are practicing sheltering in place, there are individuals across the globe who are making sure our needs are being met day in and day out. It starts with our public servants; police departments, fire departments, EMTs, and rescue units who are working tirelessly to keep the public safe. Then there are the truckers delivering supplies so groceries and pharmacies can keep their shelves stocked. And health administrators who are supporting every one of us as we parse through the different parts of our health that have suddenly become a focus. And those businesses all over the world who continue to use our services to make payments and keep the economy going. To all of you, we wanted to extend our gratitude for the essential services you’re providing to keep all of us moving forward during this difficult time.
To pay tribute to WEX customers and employees across all our lines of our business who are out there on the front lines, we’re introducing a “From the Field” section on our site which will highlight ways each one of you is making a difference in all of our lives every day. We hope you’ll find these stories inspiring.
