Evolution1 Rebrands to WEX Health

The biggest news coming from the Partner Conference was the rebranding of Evolution1 to WEX Health. From the Press Release:

Award-winning Evolution1 – a WEX Company, an industry-leading healthcare financial technology platform provider, today announced that it will now be known as WEX Health. The new name and visual identity reflect the company’s growth, leadership, and innovation in the healthcare account management industry.

“While our name and look are changing, our mission remains the same: We simplify the business of healthcare,” said Jeff Young. “The change reflects simplicity, flexibility, and global scalability. We offer the cloud platform and technology solutions that our Partners, employers, and consumers need to ensure they provide the best healthcare and benefits options available.”

Talking Payments: A Brief Look at What’s New

Healthcare payment solutions are fast evolving with innovative technologies for consumer and provider reimbursement. Panelists took a look at recent and upcoming payment solutions, including a look at top trends such as:

• Mobile payments
• Virtual cards
• Provider EFT
• “chip” cards

As well as how these will affect the healthcare payments landscape now and in the future. Additionally, other sessions covered the payments landscape of today and in the future where attendees learned about the billing and payment platform for exchange administration, direct billing solutions, and more.

Taking a Look at Regulation

To say that the healthcare industry is heavily influenced by regulation would be an understatement. We sit at the confluence of tax, healthcare, and financial services laws and regulations. 2015 featured a constantly shifting environment, and 2016, 2017, and beyond look to be no different.

Even though the Affordable Care Act has been the law of the land for quite some time now, it continues to shape the direction of our markets and affect our strategies, and each year brings new challenges – and opportunities.

Attendees learned about regulatory and legislative changes in Washington, both on Capitol Hill and in the agencies—and what the hot issues will be heading into the election.
